Pentik's Spring and Summer 2023 collections celebrate the colours and shapes of nature
In spring and summer 2023, nature is present everywhere in home decor. In late winter, homes have a peaceful atmosphere and a harmonious colour palette. As spring turns into summer, the sunlight and natural colours intensify and brighten. In summer, nature invites you outdoors, and cushions and ceramic dishes take over gardens and terraces. The season's patterns feature juicy, fresh lemon, vibrant, energetic floral splendour, and tranquil northern hues. Domestic ceramics are experiencing a strong boom, and vases made in Posio are a sure gift choice for spring celebrations.
Pentik, a Finnish interior design house, brings nature into homes with high-quality textiles and skillfully crafted domestic ceramic products, complemented by a wide selection of new wood and glass items. New tableware for the season includes the Tuntu mug and teapot, which feature beautiful and practical details. Unique and minimalist ceramic Easter eggs, first produced in the 1970s and reminiscent of real bird eggs in their colour scheme, return to the decor elements by popular demand. Pentik Studio's 2023 theme eggs are hand-decorated with delicate pink flowers. From Pentik's classic collections, wooden bunnies and Ilona collection tulip textiles are timely for Easter.
As summer approaches, thoughts turn to cottage life and nature trips. The dream of a garden leads people to create green oases indoors as well. Pentik's new Kukkapenkki (Flowerbed) pattern is the easiest way to enjoy colourful summer flowers. The summer season culminates in the magic of midsummer, and the romantic Juhannusruusu (Midsummer Rose) and Valssi (Waltz) patterns are perfect for the nightless night. The new Pompula (Bobble) vase, designed by Anu Pentik, brings colour to the decor and invites you to pick your favourite flowers for your home.
- Gardens will take over homes next spring and summer. Nature and its colours, shapes, and materials are sought after in interiors, both in the hustle and bustle of the city and in the countryside. Homes are now desired to adapt to nature's cycle. From the serene, earthy, and grounding colours of winter, as sunlight increases, we move to abundant fruit and floral patterns that create harmony and well-being. Domestic ceramics and playfulness are also appealing, which is why our 1970s classic collection is expanding from owls to beautiful ceramic bird eggs, says Pentik's Marketing and Communications Director Minna Lampinen.
Interior trends for early spring include muted colours, followed by the vibrant and tart citrus fruits of spring and the abundant floral splendour of summer. Lavender, old rose, and yellow are the season's hit colours.
- Lavender, or light violet, appeals to many because it naturally suits the Nordic spring and summer, when the light at night has a similar hazy hue. Also, the colour of many northern flowers is a cool blue-red. Violet is particularly well suited for combining with powdery old rose colour schemes, as well as shades of wood or concrete and other natural materials. Yellow, on the other hand, is topical every spring and brings sunshine indoors even on a cloudy day, explains Pentik designer Lasse Kovanen about the spring trend colours.
Inkivääri – neutral shades and quality materials for interior design

The collection features various shades of off-white and brown, and textile materials include cotton, wool, and linen. The Inkivääri (Ginger) pattern can be used to decorate an entire home. Inkivääri offers a wide selection of textiles for dining, bedrooms, and living rooms, as well as vases, paper lamps, posters, and ceramic decorative items.
Tuntu ceramic products – practical details for lovers of domestic ceramics

The Tuntu mug and pitcher are full of small details that make them pleasant to use and behold. The pitcher's handle and spout are designed to keep the lid in place, and the mug is shaped to fit naturally in the hand. Made in Posio, the world's northernmost ceramic factory, these dishes have a subdued colour palette and suit a variety of table settings.
Valssi – a symphony of colour for bedrooms and living rooms

The romantic pattern creates a luxurious atmosphere in the bedroom and living room. The colour scheme includes sweet violet with piquant lime green, or powdery pink accompanied by calm beige. Valssi combines beautifully with shiny steel, natural wood, and glass. It is also perfectly complemented by warm or bright solid-coloured cushions and blankets.
Sitruuna – the tartest print of spring brings sunshine into the home

The new, cheerful Sitruuna (Lemon) is a modern and retro interpretation of the classic southern fruit. The yellow and lime green colour scheme of the pattern is softened by shades of rose, brown, and grey. Sitruuna is perfect for spring decor and can dress up the home in a fresh Easter outfit. Sitruuna is easy to combine with ceramic eggs and wooden bunnies. In summer, the pattern gets a new look with fresh flowers and Jäkälä or Ilona textiles. Sitruuna products are available for the kitchen, bedroom, and living room. The collection also includes plywood products and decorations made in Finland.
Kukkapenkki – unfading flowers bring the garden indoors and invite you on a nature trip

The energetic colours of the print are like a summer flowerbed in full bloom. Warm yellow-orange is refreshed by cool, bright summer blues and greens. The collection includes products for the kitchen and decor, from cushion covers to tote bags and aprons. Kukkapenkki also invites you to go out into nature, as the collection includes beach towels, bags, and a rattan chair. The print is easy to combine with white ceramics and Pentik Elo pot series and jars.
Juhannusruusu – the magic of the nightless night and a romantic atmosphere for your summer home

Juhannusruusu (Midsummer Rose) brings a summer vibe to the kitchen and living room. The pattern combines energetic lime green with more tranquil darker shades and cheerful white.
